BRCC Student Government Association President Aanya Mims, Treasurer SaRita Kimber, and Secretary Layla Williams attended the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) Summer Programming Board Institute I, held at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago this month.

As SGA prepares and plans programming for the 2026–27 academic year, these elected student leaders participated in engaging sessions focused on inclusive programs and events, creative brainstorming strategies and the continuous improvement of campus activities.

Their attendance provided valuable opportunities to gain new ideas, learn best practices and network with student leaders from colleges and universities across the country.

We are proud of their commitment to leadership, professional development and student engagement. We are also honored to have them represent Baton Rouge Community College and the student body as they bring back innovative ideas to enhance the student experience on our campus.

BRCC recently held its first electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) technician course to prepare students for high-demand careers in electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
