From Baton Rouge, Kat earned her Bachelor's degree from LSU. Her favorite subject while in college was a tie between English Lit and Psychology.

Kat loves that academic coaching allows her to connect with students while helping them. Her advice to students is to, "Become super familiar with your passions and values so you can easily incorporate them into your life, and let them charge your motivation."

Today's spotlight is on Shayla Tran, one of our amazing Academic Coaches!

From Morgan City, LA, Shayla received her undergraduate degree from LSU.

During her undergraduate years, you could find Shayla studying her favorite subject, Human Anatomy, in the LSU Library. She wishes she had used NetTutor (online tutoring; visit the CAS website for more info) and attended CAS Signature Workshops (Time Management, College Studying, and Finals Prep) while in undergrad.

Shayla says the best part of academic coaching is, "The one-on-one appointments, being able to provide resources, and help students." Her advice to students is, "Have fun, but also prioritize education. Study hard!"
