Alumni spotlight! 💚💙✨️
Avery Barnett has wanted to be a teacher for as long as she can remember. The University View Academy Class of 2023 graduate recently fulfilled a lifelong dream and was hired as a teacher before even completing her undergraduate degree.
Barnett graduated from UVA with an associate degree and finished college in just three years. She was one of the youngest members of her cohort in Southeastern Louisiana University’s prestigious education program. She will begin as a fourth grade teacher this fall.
“I’ve always loved to learn, but I’ve also always wanted the freedom to do it on my own terms, from my own space," Barnett said. "UVA showed me what education could look like when it’s backed by real support. Now, as I look toward teaching, I want to pass that same feeling on: to make school a warm, welcoming place where students actually want to show up.”

Students from UVA's Elementary, Junior, and Senior Beta Club recently traveled to Nashville, TN, to attend National Beta Convention!
Our teams networked with schools from across the country and competed in academic and creative challenges, bringing home several national awards. We are proud to offer opportunities for our students to explore their talents and passions! 💚💙
