DOTD announces the most current list of roadway closures due to the winter weather. Motorists should note that as weather conditions change, roads can quickly become hazardous and may become impassable before barricades can be put in place.

Take a minute to check out some of the bills that become law today - January 1, 2026!

Excited to share that Louisiana is now a comparative fault state as it pertains to personal injury litigation. This common sense measure will help to bring Louisiana in line with more than 34 other states as it pertains to determining fault - if you are found to be 51% or more at fault - you canโ€™t claim for damages.

Here are a few more: (see list in comments to read more about them)
HB 549 - Requires reduction in rates for commercial policyholders if cameras or telematic systems on located on trucks

HB 438- Deals with advertising expenses and prohibits use of certain expenses in setting rates

SB 231- Transparency in medical billing - helps to rule out inflated medical bills

HB 441 -Funding mechanism paid by insurance industry to cover cost of Louisiana Fortified Roof program
