LSU Law alumnus Mike Patterson (’71) will receive the 2025 Distinguished Attorney award from the Louisiana Bar Foundation tonight during the LBF Annual Gala. The Distinguished Attorney award recognizes an individual who has distinguished themself in the legal profession. Congratulations, Mike!

This past weekend Long Law Firm participated in the annual Belly up with the Bar, hosted by the Baton Rouge Bar Association. This event not only provided an incredible opportunity to spend time with our colleagues in the Baton Rouge legal community, but it also raised nearly $40,000 for the Bar Foundation’s youth education programs.

This year, we were honored to take home the awards for Best Grub 2nd Place for our deconstructed pulled pork sandwich and Best Cocktail for our vodka infused dill pickle brine shot. A huge thank you to all our team members, and a special shoutout to Valerie and Trey Bargas of Honey’s of LA for taking our food and drink to the next level.

We cannot wait to be back again next year for a great event and a great cause.

Meet our newest attorney Julie N. deGeneres!

Julie was born in Mason City, IA near the Minnesota border but found her way to South Louisiana in the early 1970’s and considers herself to be from Baton Rouge. She graduated with a B.S. degree from LSU in 1985, being the first to graduate from college on either side of her family. She then attended law school at LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center and graduated in 1991. Some of her practice areas are Mediation and Arbitration Insurance, Design & Construction, and Premises Liability. Welcome Julie!
