TEACHER OF THE YEAR
Kelly McGreal serves as the Community-Based Teacher at Glasgow Middle in East Baton Rouge Parish, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. she works primarily with students with low-incidence disabilities in a self-contained setting. Ms. McGreal balances a class of 12 students, grades 6th-8th, while implementing all individual education plans on these students. Her class incorporates grade level standards through the implementation of the Louisiana connectors in the subject areas of math, English language arts, and science. She simultaneously prioritizes social skills, daily living skills, and individual education goals throughout all lessons. Through teacher collaboration and student involvement, Ms. McGreal has implemented multiple inclusive opportunities for students at Glasgow. her students enjoy playing games with their homeroom buddies, running a teacher appreciation care, and visiting various classrooms for hands-on lessons.

Deaf Communinity and Hurricane Ida On-site Assistance

In the 2021-2022 school year, students will return to school for face-to-face instruction. Some students will continue to need or want the option to participate in a virtual environment. In order to provide a quality virtual option to families, we will expand the EBR Virtual Academy to serve grades Pre-K through 12. Families that continue to choose the virtual option will need to enroll their students in the EBR Virtual Academy.
