NEW BEGINNING: GE Vernova says Schenectady’s historic GE rooftop sign is coming down this spring for refurbishment ahead of its 100th anniversary. The sign is being temporarily disassembled so crews can modernize its internal systems and restore it safely. The company said it expects the work to finish later this spring.
