The Good News: we introduced Spanish Story Time as part of our Camp RSR series this summer!
The Best News: we’ve decided EVERY Story Time should have a little bit of Spanish!!

We’ve been having so much fun with Spanish Story Time this summer that we decided we will be offering it year round!

So if Story Time, with a side of Español sounds like your jam….we’ll see you luego!

📚What is Recs & Crafts?

An evening in our cozy bookshop talking and sharing about our current reads, while working on a simple bookish craft.
Best part: there is NO assigned book!
You read that right! We get together to share and discuss our current reads, give each other some new recs, and work on a simple craft project.

📚Age range:

Adults: 18 & up
**NOTE: we are working on a session for our younger Red Stick Readers as well; more info to come!

📚When and Where?

Meetings are at Red Stick Reads

Adult Session:
4th Thursday of the month, 6-8pm
First meeting:
Thursday, July 23rd

Children’s Sessions:
Will begin in August
Date TBA

📚What is the cost and what does it cover?

The cost will vary depending on the craft project featured that month. Our goal is to keep this at an affordable range, and we plan to use recycled materials whenever possible. The cost also goes towards staffing the evening.

📚What is the 1st craft we will be making?

We will be making Book Vases!!
You can purchase a book that evening in the shop or B.Y.O.B (Bring your own book)
All other materials and instruction will be provided.

We recommend bringing USED hardback book; ; book pages will be cut

Our friends at Owens Grocery & Deli are hosting their 9th Annual Back to School Bash on August 1st, where they will be distributing MANY needed back to school supplies for students in our community. Red Stick Reads is so excited to announce that we are partnering up to help!

In addition to dropping off back to school items at Owen’s Grocery located at 2444 Balis Drive, you can also drop items off at Red Stick Reads starting TODAY!

Between today, Thursday July 16th, and Friday July 31st you can bring school supply items to the bookshop as well. We will take care of bringing all items donated to Owen’s just in time for their Back to School bash happening on Saturday, August 1st.

Below is a wish list of items needed. Please look over the list, and share with friends and family to help us spread the word on how we can all help.

Back to School is an exciting time, but it can come with many stressors and worries for some in our community when it comes to gathering basic supplies. This week’s Camp RSR Session is allllll about exploring and having fun with books by Mo Willems! We love Elephant, Piggie and of course Pigeon and can’t wait to see what they’re up to.

Since his first arrest in 1975, Ted Bundy has been the most ubiquitous serial killer in US popular culture. He is the subject of seven feature films and miniseries, several televised documentaries and podcasts, numerous true crime books, and myriad other texts trading in the saga of a man who kidnapped, r***d, and murdered at least thirty white women and girls in the Pacific Northwest, Utah, Colorado, and Florida.

The Bundy Archive: Genealogies of White Masculinity is the first scholarly study to investigate the deep, unsettling allure of Bundy within the public imagination.
Working at the intersection of cultural criticism, true crime, and memoir, author Bryan J. McCann argues that Bundy’s ubiquity is not a function of his depravity and strangeness, but of his familiarity and resonance.
