Fight the Blight BR was formed on Valentines Day weekend 2020 to encourage and engage citizens throughout the city-parish to join forces to remove graffiti and blight and express LOVE for our community. “Love Our City” has a monthly Day of Service.
Our inaugural Blight to Bright Initiative, on Sat. April 23rd was awesome!! Sunflower Saturday was a huge success. So many thanks to all of our volunteers that came out to help. Special thanks to Cane’s for their partnership and support, Cotina Marshall, Blight to Bright Project Coordinator, and Trinity Wicker and Ronald Williams, Project Assistants got all of your help in putting all of this together!!❤️🌻

My heart was so full from this event!! This was the BEST VALENTINES DAY EVER!! Spending the day Loving on Our City was awesome! Thanks to all of the volunteers and sponsors who made this day a reality, spending the day erasing graffiti and blight throughout our city. Special thanks to Trueil Montague M&M Industrial; Home Depot; Jacobs Engineering; Raising Cane’s; Coca-Cola, SU Lab History Club; Voices of Mercy; and many other volunteers for your love and dedication in helping to make our city a better place❤️❤️
