Four years ago, a Coalition of organizations joined together to make going to court a little easier for family members impacted by proceedings in First Appearance. We could've imagined how impactful or fulfilling these years have been.

Tonight, 68,500 people will fill Levi's stadium to watch the Super Bowl⁠ ⁠ But right now, nearly double that amount are locked in solitary confinement. ⁠ ⁠ Over122,000 people are alone in concrete cells, often for 22 to 24 hours a day.⁠ ⁠ This isn’t rare. Last 19th JDC First Appearance Family Support Center of 2025! What a time, what a time, today! We celebrated Day 5 Nia (Purpose) of Kwanzaa with the Village today. Enjoyed cookies and King cake and discussed the power of educating the community on Kwanzaa. We had such a good time we forgot to take pictures.
