Happy Ehlers-Danlos and Mental Health month! This is my time to shine! ✨
While I may be turning 39 in 2 days, my spine resembles that of a 70 year old and now my hips have arthritis too! They said it was all downhill after 30… but this is ridiculous 🤣
Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS) is a heritable connective tissue disorder characterized by joint hypermobility, joint instability (dislocations), and chronic pain. It affects the entire body, but so far the majority of my symptoms are spine related! I’m lucky we have health insurance, and that I’m able to attend physical therapy. I’m also lucky to have the audacity to advocate for myself, and a family that puts up with me.
Expect some fun chronic illness stickers over the next few months as I continue to explore both medicine and art! The summer will be full of hard work, whimsy and relaxing!

Not only is it my birthday month, but it’s also mental health awareness month! 10% of all sales is donated to in Batavia, IL!

May 23 + 24 we finish up events at at Cedar County Fairgrounds in Tipton Iowa!
It will be a busy month but I am so excited to meet new friends and hear how everyone is doing!

I’ve been a little quiet lately. Not that I’ve ever posted consistently, but hey I sometimes show up!
If you’ve been following me you know I’m always on a health journey! My family has an unknown genetic degenerative tissue disorder. All genetic testing we’ve done so far is negative, so we’re still searching. I hurt my shoulder in December and in January I couldn’t take it any longer! I saw a Dr, was diagnosed hypermobile and started physical therapy.
In a weird cosmic way, I was paired with a therapist who has similar health issues. Things I thought were normal, were confirmed not normal 🤣 I know you’re shocked! Did you know not everyone gets dizzy everyday? Or has to pop joints back into place? wtf! It lead down a path of not only healing my shoulder but everything else! So as I’ve been working on my shoulder, other things have been lining up (literally). It’s been exhausting! So I’ve been resting a ton.
While I still have no further diagnosis, I’m 99% sure it’s hypermobile ehlers-danlos syndrome & dysautonomia. I will still continue to take care of myself and advocating with or without the diagnosis. So I took what I’ve been experiencing and put it into my stickers! As I learn more I’ll try to share!
