National Day of The Cowgirl - may we know, may we raise them, may we be them!

I was having coffee with my health coach a while back and we were discussing life and it’s struggles. I told her “I know people with gorgeous homes and all the things money can buy but I also know they are absolutely miserable.” As much as I’d love to remodel my kitchen, or add on to our barn, drive a brand new car every year I can honestly say I am HAPPY. These people with everything are always filling in the cracks so no one can see. Id rather live a genuine life with all the cracks showing than be miserable for a single second. We may not have it all but we have each other and you can call that a clique all day but for me it’s reality. I’m not wasting any time wishing I had this or that but diligently working towards those goals with my family in mind. I have to remind myself of the above statement all the time and especially on days like today when my plans get wrecked and everyone is going a different direction. Here’s to the weekend!

Truly never even thought of this until Cade showed me this memory today and I looked at the date. Don’t wait until the next year, or day, or week. Seize the day! No, I had zero clue or expectation on this day 6 years ago that my life would change forever. An amazing partner, marriage, kids, animals, life. I do remember sitting in bed with my sister drinking champagne 🍾watching documentaries and eating junk food (which was the plan to ring in the new year) when Cade called and ask me to come to Waco to Circuit Finals to which I laughed and said “absolutely not” but my gut told me to go and I can not imagine where I would be if I hadn’t. Take the chance, even on the last day of the year. Here’s to 2024!

Coming from a long line of rodeo family and then marrying a long line of rodeo family I have been fortunate enough to know many of the greatest cowboys and cowgirls from generations before.
