With so many mixed grief emotions that exist with the upcoming this quote is the reminder that our emotions can be this AND that. We can experience good and hard simultaneously and there is such emotional freedom in giving space for both!

Unfortunately in my grief work I have found that grief is awkward and uncomfortable for many leaving those grieving feeling the need to rush through their grief or not fully share the deepths of their pain because of not wanting others to feel uncomfortable. Grief requires us and others to face our mortality and many of us don’t do that well. If you are a person experiencing grief don’t let others dictate your grief journey and what your process looks like. And for those supporting grieves allow yourself to be okay with discomfort and discomfort can often grow compassion.
