Buschauer Portraits
We make intriguing portraits that are cherished parts of a family's visual legacy... while likewise being artistic decor that clients are proud to display in their homes. We make the process from your initial consultation, until walking out the door with your framed images, one that is both fun and educational.

It's with deep sorrow and a very broken heart that I share that my dog, (and beloved studio mascot), Daisy Mae, suddenly fell ill and died Sunday morning by euthanasia.
To those of you who had the opportunity of meeting Daisy Mae, thank you for your kindnesses toward her. I'm grateful that under my watch, that kindness was all Daisy ever knew: from me, friends, family and clients.
God Bless the animals and those who look out for them, Al.
The photo is my final goodbye moments before her passing.

Remembering Those Who Didn't Make It Back
~ We Could Have Been Friends ~
"You had so much potential, Soldier. Who knows, you could have been a great inventor and found a way to ease world suffering, a missionary spreading love and hope in troubled parts of the world, received a Nobel Peace Prize or even more importantly, been a great dad or mom to some young and impressionable minds. Who knows, we could have become good friends. We might have shared some things in common like photography, being out in nature or running with our dogs... and just enjoying a few of life's splendid simplicites. It would have been fun to sit and talk about old times, share some laughs and memories, and maybe have a beer together.
But I'll never know you, not really, except to see your name etched in a memorial. It could have easily been me in your place. To say I owe you would be feeble. To say thank you is about all I can do.
Today I'll enjoy some time with family. For anything less, your sacrifice would be in vain. I'll start the day on my knees in gratitude for you and all those that didn't make it back. God bless you, Soldier. Perhaps someday we will be friends."
To all the families with fallen men and women soldiers everywhere in the world, I think we're more the same than we are different. You grieve just like the rest of us. I send love this Memorial Day ~ Blessings, Al ~

I just saw my sister on Mother's Day and she had just gotten back from Portofino, Italy. When I was there, hiking up the mountain with my camera gear, I knew this was a great place tor a shot. But the view was only available from inside the gates of this private property. Hearing people talking I called out and persuaded the owner to let me in to photograph. It was magnificent. He later told me that two well known painters had painted the scene many years ago form exactly where I had set up. I thought that was cool!

Looking so forward to the warm weather. This shot gives me hope that next week and beyond, I'll be spending a lot more time outdoors. Are you with me on that?

Just shot this over the weekend. I liked the way it turned out. This is an old buddy of mine from way back!

I shot this at Baker's Lake knowing it would end up as a black and white. There is never a shortage of subjects within a short distance of my studio. Springtime is one of my favorite times. Can't wait to share some images real soon!

The blossoms are out now even though it's still so cold. Next week should be warmer! This is an art piece I made to celebrate Spring. I'll be having several prints at the White House on May 19th, as I'm the featured artist from 6-9 PM. (That's the White House in Barrington, not at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave! LOL)

Been inconsistent on FB for a while. You know how sometimes life gets in the way of really important stuff. Recently I've had two clients mention that they thought I was out of business and moved away. Yes, a couple of years ago it was a very trying time with COVID and all, and I was set to close the studio. Then things started looking up for us. And to set the record straight, I'm still here, alive and doing well. Very excited about spring's upcoming arrival. Will be shooting First Communion and graduation portraits soon!
