🇺🇸 Thank You, Mrs. Joan Ellis! 🇺🇸
The Barnstable Fire Department would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mrs. Joan Ellis for her generous donation that made it possible to purchase, install, and maintain more than 40 American flags along the telephone poles on Main Street in Barnstable Village.
This thoughtful gift is made in memory of her husband, Jim Ellis, and serves as a wonderful tribute as our nation celebrates the 250th birthday of the United States of America this Fourth of July.
The beautiful display of flags throughout our village center reflects the pride, patriotism, and community spirit that make Barnstable Village so special. Thanks to Mrs. Ellis' generosity, residents and visitors alike will be able to enjoy this meaningful display for years to come.
Please join us in thanking Mrs. Joan Ellis for helping honor our nation's history and for making this project possible for the entire Barnstable community.
And a special thank you to our members who installed these flags.
🇺🇸 Thank you, Mrs. Ellis, and God Bless America! 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to honor and remember Firefighter/EMT Ronald J. Beals, Jr. on the 30th anniversary of his Line of Duty Death.
On June 5, 1996, Firefighter/EMT Ronald J. Beals, Jr., age 34, of the Barnstable Fire Department, made the ultimate sacrifice after suffering the effects of a contagious disease contracted in the line of duty.
Thirty years later, we continue to remember FF Beals not only for his service and dedication to the citizens of the Barnstable Fire District and the Town of barnstable, but also for the compassion, courage, and professionalism he demonstrated throughout his career. His commitment to helping others serves as a lasting example of the risks firefighters and EMS providers face while protecting their communities.
Today, we honor his sacrifice, reflect on his legacy, and extend our gratitude to his family, friends, and all those who served alongside him.
“Gone, but never forgotten.”
Please join us in remembering Firefighter/EMT Ronald J. Beals, Jr. and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others.

🚒MARINE RESPONSE TRAINING⚓
Over the past two days, members of the Barnstable Fire Department participated in annual marine operations training on Cape Cod Bay alongside our regional response partners from the Sandwich Fire Department, U.S. Coast Guard Station Cape Cod Canal, and U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod.
This valuable training brings together fire department marine units, U.S. Coast Guard Motor Lifeboats, and rotary-wing aircraft to conduct a variety of realistic response scenarios in a challenging marine environment. Beyond the operational skills gained, these exercises provide an opportunity for responders from different agencies to work side-by-side, build relationships, and strengthen the coordination that is essential during real-world emergencies.
Training like this is critical to ensuring our personnel are prepared to respond effectively to emergencies and rescue operations on the water. The relationships and experience developed during these exercises help improve the safety of both responders and the public we serve.
We would like to thank all of the agencies and personnel involved for their continued commitment to this annual training opportunity and for their dedication to protecting our coastal communities.
