Years ago, when I was in a rough spot, I met a man named Jon Dee Graham. For a few weeks, we would talk, smoke ci******es, and play music. He had just written this song, swept away, that just lands. Though our paths only really converged for that brief period, I would see him around Austin over the following years at venues like the The Continental Club, and he always remembered me and asked what I was up to. His kindness and encouragement have stuck with me through the years. I found out today that he passed recently, and I was struck by the need to play his old song.
