It’s happening here, in West Baltimore 🌳🎨

The activation of our local artists is one of the ways Parks & People continues to ensure every neighborhood is a wonder-filled place to live, work, and thrive.

Guided by the community, this mural designed by Jordan and Rodney highlights the history of the Penn North neighborhood and adds to the revitalization of an area that has seen many challenges.

Stockton Street Park stands as a place of hope and restoration in Baltimore’s legacy of pride and resilience. We are excited to cut the ribbon this Saturday along with all of our partners, funders, and of course you the community.

Together with our partners, Parks & People is pleased to invite you to celebrate the opening of Stockton Street Park!

Stockton Street Park is an example of a post demolition project. We partner with community members, local artists, and city and state leaders to transform vacant lots into spaces of recreation, rest, and discovery. This park will add 3,050 sqft of green space to the Penn North neighborhood of West Baltimore.

Project highlights include a decorative gate designed by Nick Ireys with the help of community members and a mural by Jordan Lawson , as featured in the Baltimore Sun.

Together we are reimagining communities, removing blight, and creating spaces where wonder grows in Baltimore City.

Spring 2026 has come to a close, these Branches Interns have been a delight to have! From climbing ropes courses at Outward Bound to graphing sound pollution points on our campus, each day gave a new adventure. To see this city through the eyes of our interns is so special, and to have the opportunity to connect these interns to the nature that is around them is a gift that is not taken for granted. Spring 2026 interns, thank you for bringing this cohort to life and experiencing wonder with me everyday in Branches. I truly cannot wait and see what this group of students will accomplish, I know each of their futures will be bright and fruitful. - Sophie
