What's that noise? A thudding sound from your tires means low air pressure, a flat tire, or alignment problems. Check your inflation and then have your alignment checked to extend the life of the tires.

Don't overlook or neglect the belts in your car's engine. If they look greasy or glazed, contain splits and chunking, or have cracks, then it’s time to replace them.

For most cars, especially those with aluminum alloy rims, straightening a bent tire is not recommended as it can contribute to failure or other problems. If the wheel is bent, replacing it is the safest option.

Before buying new tires, check to make sure they are the right size and type. Putting the wrong size or type of tire on your vehicle affects its handling, puts stress on the powertrain (an expensive repair), and compromises the safety systems.
