Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery

This darker and more gothic 2025 American mystery, with religious themes, 2nd sequel to Knives Out (2019), and the 3rd installment in the Knives Out series, written and directed by Rian Johnson, is about another murder, this time of an arrogant foul-mouthed monsignor (Josh Brolin), inside a Catholic church in upstate New York during a Good Friday service, with a young newly-reassigned and former boxer turned priest (Josh O'Connor) as the prime suspect, initially disdained by its few regular but corrupt parishioners, in a case involving a crisis of faith, secrets, grudges, and a missing huge inheritance, but assisted in discovering the truth by the police-summoned private detective Benoit Blanc (David Craig).
