It began in England in 1980 and has subsequently captured the imagination of over 30,000 people in 26 countries around the world. The program is organized and led by volunteers and everyone is encouraged to ‘volunticipate” (volunteer and participate). We receive a broad range of proposals for classes, lectures, panel discussions, experiential programs and cultural activities and at Limmud, every teacher is a student and every student can be a teacher. Limmud is cross-communal, diverse and innovative. It engages beginners to scholars, the young to the young at heart. There is even a Little Limmud for children! Participants reflect the full spectrum of Jewish practices, beliefs and doubts.
