“I know that ultimately I’m going to die of this cancer,” Stum said on a Cervivor podcast. “I just try to cope with it the best that I can. I do that by making memories with my family and my friends.”
This moving piece pulls back the curtain on why our work at Cervivor is so urgent. We aren't just fighting a medical diagnosis; we are fighting the lack of information, the persistent stigma, and the systemic delivery failures that keep families from getting life-saving preventative care.

Join Cervivor Noir, Cervivor Africa, and Cervivor Caribbean for an intimate and empowering virtual conversation centered on healing and honest dialogue.
“Healing Out Loud: Beyond the Diagnosis” was created to hold space for Black cancer survivors and patients navigating the realities of diagnosis, survivorship, advocacy, and life beyond cancer. Together, we will explore the challenges we often carry silently while encouraging rest, release, connection, and community healing across the diaspora.
This conversation is designed to be cozy, supportive, and uplifting — a reminder that no one has to walk this journey alone.
