Our friend August came to America from Belgium in 1997, and decided to stay because of a girl he met at the airport whom he ended up marrying and became a US citizen. His first UNION beer was at the old brewery in 2013 and he has been with us ever since! In honor of our favorite dual citizen, we asked for a Belgian-inspired dish to serve for the USA vs Belgium World Cup match this evening. Without hesitation, he said “stoofvlees”, beer braised beef served on fries, then topped with the Belgian pantry staple, mayonnaise.

Come watch the game tonight, drink some beers with August and eat some stoofvlees!
