PILOT Learning is a loose acronym for peer-led-team learning. This program was established at Johns Hopkins in 2008 following a model developed by the City College of New York in 1991 and Washington University in Saint Louis in 2001. Extensive research demonstrates that these programs improve student learning. In the Hopkins PILOT program, students are organized into study teams consisting of 6-10
