Session Spotlight:
📣 Designing the Future: Climate Adaptation as a Tool for Community Power

✨ What if our organizing didn’t just fight for survival — but shaped the world we want to live in?

This interactive skillshare blends speculative fiction, climate justice, and grassroots strategy to help us do exactly that.
Grounded in the real-life work behind Rumbo’s Resilient Phoenix initiative and inspired by Afrofuturists and Emergent Strategies, we’ll explore how communities of color can imagine and build futures where we thrive. 🌱🔥

We’ll begin with a story: Maryvale, the hottest neighborhood in Phoenix — where residents are designing and leading bold urban adaptation efforts. Then we open the space.

📍Map the climate pressures in your own city
💭 Dream the futures you long for
✊ Identify the organizing work to make it real
This session is for organizers, storytellers, and strategists — for anyone who believes our communities deserve real change now, and that we’re the ones who must lead it.
You’ll leave with a tool you can use, a spark of inspiration, and a reminder: Imagination isn’t a luxury. It’s a practice of power.
