The ALC is a truly citywide program, where every year 600 adults – both native-born and immigrants – from every corner of Baltimore work to realize their potential as productive citizens. In a city where an estimated 123,000 adults do not have a high school diploma, and still more lack the basic literacy skills to succeed in life and work, the ALC is filling an urgent need. The Adult Learning Center offers programs in two critical areas:

Adult Basic Education – instruction for individuals without a high-school diploma and those in need of basic skills training in reading, writing, and math

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) – English language instruction for non-native speakers

The Adult Learning Center is located at 3501 North Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21218. We are in the lower level of the University Baptist Church. Directions can be found here.
