Mathews became a member of Parler and Wobber, LLP where he assisted in the representation of insurance companies in tort litigation, insurance defense, as well as medical malrpractice and contract litigation. Mathews currently serves in the Maryland Army National Guard where he has assisted the Judge Advocate General in administrative hearings.
