What 2012 Naomi would have never dreamed, 14 years later…

* I would photograph weddings full time
* I’d be a part of 200+ love stories and counting
* I’d work with the best creatives in the DMV
* I’d own my own studio (peep the last slide for the before/after transformation!)
* I’d design a flexible schedule to be available for my kids as much as possible 👫
* I’d get to travel to Hawaii for work 🏝️
* I’d have weddings featured in multiple print magazines in just this year alone (Baltimore Weddings and Maryland Wedding Magazine 👋🏼)
* I’d shoot both film 🎞️ and digital 📸
* I’d be interviewed as part of a campaign highlighting 6 photographers in the DMV area and the only one from MD 🤩
* I’d create a business and life that I absolutely cannot get enough of — this work brings me so much joy, fills my cup and leaves me wanting more hours in a day with every single wake-up. 

But as you can see on slide 4, I too have trouble in front of the camera! 🙈 Took me way too many tries after my HMU was done… 🫠

I get to explore new places and work with passionate, talented, kind and unique couples from all walks of life, on a daily basis. Every day is different, every wedding is different (even if I’ve worked at your venue before!) and even though the industry has changed so much since I started, at the heart of what I do, it’s remained the same…

I document one of the most exciting and transformative days for couples and their families, in their lifetime. I gain intimate access to an event that will never happen like this and with these people, again. Documenting history in the making, whether there are 2 witnesses or 200, gives me goosebumps every time.

I’m beyond grateful to every couple and creative partner that has trusted me and allowed me the opportunity to tell your story. I’m so excited for what’s to come and hope you know how much this all means to me!! ❤️

because while your mom knows how you take your coffee and your best friend knows every chapter of your love story, they shouldn’t also be tracking down the florist, cueing the processional, adjusting the timeline, and fielding 47 questions before noon (believe me, I’ve seen all of these happen and then some)!

that’s the part no one talks about. a wedding planner isn’t just there to “help.” they’re there to hold the entire day [logistics, energy, pacing, people] with a level of intention that allows everyone else to soften into and savor the moment.

…to anticipate what’s coming before it arrives.

…to solve what could go wrong before you ever feel it.

…to protect the experience you’ve spent months dreaming up.

the truth is, the people closest to you can’t do that job… at least not in a way that lets them still be present with you, and they shouldn’t have to.

the most seamless, beautiful weddings I’ve witnessed all have one thing in common:
no one you love is working behind the scenes.

they’re right there with you, laughing, crying, fully in it… which I’d argue, is exactly where they’re meant to be.

not on my 2026 bingo card: traveling to hawaii to document a proposal 🌺✨

…but christina & ryan’s love story was too good not to say yes to…

proof that the most meaningful moments don’t wait for perfect plans; the right people, in the right place, at the right time make it perfect

and somehow, I got to be there for it 🧡🤭

but since this proposal had so many logistical considerations and Plan B / C iterations, I had to include some behind the scenes views of our hike and before/after pics of me at the end 🙈

here is the list of just some of what we navigated to make this happen:

* it truly took a village of all 5 of us to execute: the groom, the bride’s sister (flying in from the east coast as a surprise with of course a major flight delay/detour 😬🫣 but all worked out in the end thankfully!), the bride’s best friend , another friend .ruvi and me, confirming plans and texts up to the minute)

* we switched our plan to hike a totally different spot (only at 10pm the night before, when I arrived) since the hike we were planning on doing had a water main break and was flooded — while this new spot was way better for the sunrise, it quickly filled up with tourists and cars in the neighborhood with very limited street parking allowed

* i had no idea what this hike was like until we started — in complete darkness. thank god for flashlights and ignorance being bliss because it was steep, rocky, slippery (even before it rained!) and narrow. if I had known in advance what I was getting into while carrying my heaviest lenses with me, I would have been way more nervous! 🙊

* it poured rain while we hid at the top of the mountain waiting 😳 but my gear was totally fine (thanks to .ruvi’s rain protection!!!) 🙏🏼

* i accidentally slid down super gracefully on my 🍑 as we were close to the bottom 🙃😆

this trip was truly life changing and while it’s so nice to be home, I’m not gonna lie: I’d happily plan another trip back to Hawaii in a heartbeat… 🌴🌊

E&M had a day where spring showed up in full color, every glance carried joy, and every frame held that effortless kind of magic you can’t quite recreate… only recognize when it’s right in front of you. 🩷
