Baltimore Polytechnic Institute was founded in 1883 when Joshua Plaskitt petitioned the city authorities to establish an engineering school. The school was called the Baltimore Manual Training School and opened with 60 students in a building on Courtland Street. Poly leading the way!
Poly’s STEAM Outreach Club successfully hosted the STEAM Extravaganza for City Schools students! High school students led the event, which had attendees exploring Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math through hands-on experiments, robotics, crafts, and interactive tech, sparking curiosity and creativity.
