See you all tonight!!!

Today, 3/31, is the Trans Day of Visibility! We are celebrating all day long at MoCo Pride Center, ending with our big celebration at 5:30 PM by Live In Your Truth and Trans Maryland , and we want YOU to be a part of it.

The Coalition for Trans Visibility (CTV) is organizing a national media takeover today to flood the media with positive, accurate, and authentic portrayals of transgender people and those who support them. We want to see our community in action! If you want to participate...

DO:
Tell honest and true narratives about who we are
Talk about the barriers we are facing right now as a community
Speak from your own experience and area of expertise
Talk about the resilience of the community
Communicate that we are still here, have always been here, and will not be erased

DON’T:
Focus on trauma or excessive harm
Argue with the counter narratives. This is our day to tell our stories, not combat their false ones.
Fight within community. The goal is to send a unified front on this day. While we do not dismiss the very real differences in experiences based on intersections of identities, we want to focus on how we can come together as a community on TDOV.

Post interviews, podcasts, photo campaigns, short videos (3-5 minutes in length), or op-eds/blog posts! Or, simply post about media, narratives, and stories about transness that matter to you. Use the hashtag to join the movement, and tag us !

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE TRANS TO PARTICIPATE IN TODAY'S CAMPAIGN. While we acknowledge that TDOV has historically been to uplift trans voices, in our current political climate we need as many positive voices as possible. As long as cisgender people participating are still centering the trans community, they are more than welcome.

Share your story. Post your joy. Live in your truth. We will see you tonight for TDOV at MoCo Pride Center! https://liveinyourtruth.org/tdov2026

Valentine’s may be a full two weeks behind us. Black History Month/February is behind us as of this past Sunday... whether we’re talking about love or Black History, it’s important to make time for both on an ongoing basis for ourselves & the world around us.

Love is an extremely powerful force. It is so powerful that, throughout history, it has regularly been the target of those in power who love cruelty for their own selfish gain. The closer you are to the approved form of Whiteness, able-bodied, neurotypical, & straight, the less violently & directly your love is stigmatized, policed, & oppressed. The more Black you are, the more you & your love are violently & directly stigmatized, policed, & oppressed on top of further oppressing you for being Q***r, Neurodivergent, &/or Disabled. The darker your skin, the more visible your disability, neurodivergence, or sexuality, the more you are simultaneously infantilized, fetishized, & profited off of. The forces that oppress Black people & their rights use the same power to oppress everyone else, including white, able-bodied, cis folks.

However, this post isn’t meant to be depressing. One reason that oppressive forces control, manipulate, & try to commodify romance is that what is created by Q***r people, Neurodivergent People, Disabled People, People of the Global Majority & absolutely Black People, in love & human connection, is power, is beauty, is joy, is universal & can create wonders.

Share love
Embrace love
Celebrate love
Bolster love
Protect love
In doing so, we support each other and build toward something truly beautiful.
