Throwback Thursday with my great friend Todd Davis, in the “Jam Room” at Evergreen Ave, Baltimore, Maryland, circa 1991.
Todd was and still is one of the best drummers and musicians I’ve ever played with. We had this really unique chemistry and intuitive ability to anticipate rhythm changes and syncopated patterns when we played together. Todd always recorded our band rehearsals, jam sessions, experimental bass and drum exercises, vocal rehearsals, and pretty much anytime we’re in the jam room. The best part is that those recordings always captured some of the best moments and song ideas that we thought at the time were sloppy and pretty awful, but they were so unique and nearly impossible to remember and replicate without having an actual recording to listen to and analyze.
This was hands-down, my absolute favorite bass rig I’ve ever played through, Trace Elliot head and a Hartke 410 cabinet, the mids were so punchy and cut through all of the noise in the basement like glass!
Oh btw I’m still looking for my bass guitar, so if anyone knows of or finds a hand-painted/airbrushed Pedulla with bubbles and random abstract shapes and colors, please message me! 🤣
