𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗛𝗮𝘀 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲
When authoritarian movements rise, they target the same things: archives, libraries, universities, curriculum, public memory, and the people who ask hard questions about power. What is happening right now in the U.S is not unprecedented. It has happened before, and the humanities give us the tools to recognize it, name it, and resist it.
Humanities education is not a cultural nicety. It is a survival skill for democracy. And the question before us is not only how we protect it, but how we teach and engage differently going forward.

• Yaritza Velez – from Tola’s Room and has been deeply involved in the research, development, and storytelling of their new exhibit, From Borinquen to Baltimore: Puerto Rican Players of the Baltimore Elite Giants.
• Dhiraj Malhorta – Chief Executive Officer of the Major League Cricket (MLC) franchise Washington Freedom, and a member of the Board of Directors for The Hundred, and a part of the leadership team at Welsh Fire in The Hundred, he is at the forefront of expanding cricket’s global footprint and building sustainable, high-performing franchise ecosystems across international markets.
