There are moments in journalism you'll never forget.

Meeting Robert W. Bogle, President and CEO of The Philadelphia Tribune, was one of them.

Long before I ever met Mr. Bogle, my mentor Jake Oliver taught me about his leadership, his integrity, and his enormous contributions to the Black Press. So when I finally met Mr. Bogle during the 2024 NNPA Convention in Baltimore, the first thing I did was pull out my phone and call Jake.

For a few moments, two giants of Black journalism were talking because one had introduced me to the other years earlier.

That experience became much more than a photograph.
