Story time// Like many of my products, I had my ideal vision of what I wanted these earrings to look like and so I got started on the process. My mind was set on faux turquoise stone details for these. I have to admit I really donât love making canes(the process needed to get the faux stone effect) it feels time consuming, messy and often doesnât come out the way I hope. I worked SO long on making this faux stone for various different pieces and it came outâŚnot great. Slightly burnt and the shapes were not pairing well with the design I had in mind. I was so discouraged and kept the burnt pieces for like 3 weeks thinking I could still save them, was clearly in denial that they were unusableđ Anyways, today I woke up and really wanted to get these earrings finished so I can finally share what I envisioned. As much as it pained me, I tossed the entire original batch of turquoise pieces (pictured on the blue tray) and ended up making a cute little baby cane just incase it didnât come out good. Thankfully the faux stone came out perfect and I finally have the earrings I intended to make! A lesson Iâve learned multiple times and clearly still need to be reminded of is things donât always come out great the first try. Any art form often requires lots of trial and error but in the end it was worth it to get a result I am proud ofâ¨
The first picture is the finished product. Swipe to see how it started and the journey of not abandoning my idea lol
P.S. I give you permission to laugh/cringe at the earring attempt in the last pictureâŚit was not goodđ
