The Girls for Girls Project was begun to bring awareness for the need of feminine hygiene products in poverty stricken countries. Girls and women in these countries cannot attend school or do normal activities during this time of the month. They are banished to a private location away from everyone and miss educational opportunities and normal life. Making fabric washable sanitary pads to send to these countries is an option to empower these girls and women to lead a normal life.

Lighting the Path has been able to send 100 feminine hygiene kits to a girls program in the Congo thanks to Kamya and her heart to help others! This was an amazing effort on her part to fundraise, organize and teach volunteers to make the kits. They produced 175 kits in all and this effort will be of great benefit to so many in need! Kits like these are distributed to young women in impoverished countries. This will allow women and girls to continue with life tasks without restrictions each month! Thank you to Kamya and all who were involved! You changed lives and made a difference!
