Senator Shannon Lee Grove, who represents California’s 12th State Senatorial district, visited United Education Institute (UEI) in Bakersfield recently. Staples Energy has hired seven graduates from UEI's Electrician Training (ET) program in the past year.

As a Member of the Senate Energy and Utilities Committee, Senator Grove was particularly impressed with the ET program. Staples Energy Director of Operations Tori Landrum had glowing things to share with the Senator about the school and its extern-to-hire process.

“Not only do UEI students learn the skills of the [electrical] trade, but they learn important soft skills like communicating with their directors," she said.
