Public face: CEO on stage with Jensen Huang announcing AI partnerships.

Internal reality: memo to staff locking down all AI use. Company data stays out. Approval process for everything.
That company is doomed.

When legal and security teams write the AI policy without understanding what they’re actually restricting, they default to gates. Meanwhile, competitors with no gates are solving problems faster, shipping products quicker, serving customers better.

This isn’t the Terminator threat. It’s the Kodak threat. Pioneering the technology, then burying it because you’re afraid to disrupt yourself.

The biggest risk isn’t AI. It’s refusing to take the risk.

Most people who dismissed AI tried the free version once and walked away.

Here’s the problem. The free tier is often a year behind what paying users have access to. You’re making a judgment call on yesterday’s technology while the real version has already moved past the limitations you just experienced.

Pay the $20 a month. Use the actual current model. Then feed it a real problem from your actual work. Not a test question. A real contract if you’re a lawyer. A messy spreadsheet if you’re in finance. An interview transcript if you’re in recruiting.

If the first attempt falls short, push back. Give it more context. Argue with it. That’s how you actually use it.

And remember this. If it even kind of works today, it will work better tomorrow. In six months, it’ll do it perfectly.

We transformed everything at IgniteTech. 30-year-old company. Started as AI-first organization. Now we’re AI DNA.

What does AI DNA mean? It’s literally part of who we are. Everything we do. Every process. Every idea. Every line of code.

We measure it. Our AI team used AI code to write an AI application that measures AI usage. Metrics Hub. 70% of work hours use one or more AI tools. 70%.

When you have AI DNA, you naturally turn to it. You breathe it. You speak it. You think it.

Acquired Khoros. 650 people, eight countries. Most didn’t make the cut. We recruited new AI people. Chart shows new joiners catching up to existing team on AI usage over time.

Marketing, sales, development, finance. Everybody involved. Non-technical people enjoy it more. They’ve been liberated. They can write their own tools. Do things they’ve never been able to do.
You can’t put a rocket engine on a horse. Change the wheels on the moving bus as it’s driving down the street.

My wife says I’m arguing with the AI again.

Midnight. Kitchen table. Going back and forth with Claude like it owes me money. I told it to draft something. It gave me a version that sounded nothing like me. So I pushed back. It apologized. I pushed harder. It flip-flopped.

“How are you supposed to be a good thinking partner if you tell me that’s a brilliant idea, and then I give you the opposite, and you tell me that’s brilliant too?”

That’s how you actually use it. Not as a vending machine where you type one sentence and expect perfection. As a thinking partner you challenge.

I haven’t written anything on a blank page in a year and a half. And I never will again. I sit with AI, I argue with it, I push back, I hold it accountable. This is how I work now. Every day.

AI doesn’t make us less human. It gives us time back to be more human.

Humanity’s Last Exam. Thousands of the hardest questions from 500 institutions in 50 countries. Math, chemistry, physics, humanities. Designed by subject experts to be the most difficult test in the world.

When it launched in early 2025, the best AI models scored 2.7%. GPT-4o got under 3%. Single digits across the board.

One year later, top models are clearing 30% and climbing fast.

From 3% to 30% in twelve months. Ten times better performance in one year. On questions specifically designed to stump AI.

That’s not incremental improvement. That’s exponential acceleration on the hardest benchmark humans can create.

The people who understand what this trajectory means will define what comes next.

Fortune ran the headline again. “Fired 80%.” Same number. Same story.

Except that was never the story.

I put 20% of our entire payroll into one thing for a full quarter: teaching people. Tools. Training. Real money. It still wasn’t enough. You can’t hand someone belief.

This is not a tech change. It is a cultural change, and it is a business change.

The number was never the goal. Belief was. Get that right, and your people don’t just adopt the future. They build it.

I said we built two products from our AI transformation.

I missed one.

MyPersonas® to extend your key employees as digital likenesses in video format. Eloquens AI® to handle shared customer-facing inboxes with the right tone for every conversation. And Adminio AI, a named scheduling assistant that works entirely through email, built because a gap in our own transformation revealed a problem worth solving.

Three products. All of them born from problems we lived before we built anything.

That’s what transformation gives you that research never can.

We threw out our entire all-hands agenda in January 2023.

Not because the year was off to a bad start. Because Jensen Huang published four words: “This is the iPhone moment for AI.” That was enough. The next slide was a picture of a gift. Time, investment, and tools for every single person in the company. Not just engineering. Every function. And then we changed everything.

Every CEO in enterprise software saw that same quote. Most are still deciding.

People say the AI hype is starting to sound like a religion. Silicon Valley especially.

Maybe. But here’s the thing about AI versus religion.

There’s no room for agnostic. No room for atheism. This isn’t about belief. AI is here to stay. It’s going to transform our lives whether you believe in it or not.

So don’t squander the gift. Take it.

Get ready for a revolution.

Apply that line to everything. Education. Healthcare. Legal. Every vocation.

If you accept this gift and help everyone around you realize we can do great things now, faster than ever, better than ever, with an assistant right by our side. 24/7. Always happy to help.

Sometimes a little too happy. We all know that. But it’s absolutely remarkable.
