Meet Bernazin 👋

She is a 14-year-old student from Nanyuki, Kenya. Her favorite subject at school is social studies, and she dreams of going to university to become a lawyer. 📚

Before Bernazin had reliable access to clean water, she and her grandmother would walk up to 4 kilometers to collect water from a borehole, which was not always safe to drink.

Bernazin used to worry about the consequences of water shortages in the community she loves. A new clean water system in her community has allowed Bernazin to focus on her dreams instead of her worries. 🩵

When asked what access to clean water means to her, Bernazin said, “Water means life to me. Having reliable access to clean water means health and cleanness.” 💧
