PATIENT UPDATE: More than a decade ago, these three young men from Kenya came to the US to have their heart defects corrected. Thanks to HeartGift and our generous supporters, all received life- saving heart surgery … and look at them now!

HeartGift Program Director Sonya Keeling was overjoyed to see them again and remembered them instantly during a recent trip to Africa. Ryan (left) and Kelvin (right) were treated at Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin in 2012 and 2013, and Ryaan (middle) received care at University Health in San Antonio in 2015. Today, all three are healthy, happy, and grateful to HeartGift for saving their lives.

Seeing them healthy, confident, and full of personality was a true highlight of Sonya’s life! We love these full circle moments! 💙

Alexandra has officially begun her pre-operative appointments! 💙 Every step brings her closer to the life-saving heart surgery she’s been waiting for.

And let us tell you... everyone is already obsessed with her. Her calm spirit and energy are bringing a sense of peace to this journey.

Soon, Alexandra will have the healthy heart she needs to drive her mom crazy for the rest of her life ... AND embrace every opportunity ahead of her. We can’t wait to watch her strength shine even brighter on the other side of surgery.
