For twenty years, Environment Texas has been a steadfast advocate for protecting the natural resources, wildlife, and open spaces that make Texas unique β€” championing clean air, clean water, sustainable energy, and a healthier environment for generations to come.

Through its advocacy, research, public education, and grassroots efforts, Environment Texas has protected public lands, preserved wildlife habitats, and advanced conservation efforts that strengthen the health and vitality of communities across our state.

Got a firsthand look at how Cenikor Foundation helps North Texans move from crisis to stability through recovery-focused care.

The work being done there connects people to treatment, structure, and real paths forward through addiction and behavioral health challenges.

Thank you to Cenikor Foundation and its staff for allowing Team Johnson to see the work being done to serve our region.

As the Grandmother of Juneteenth, Opal Lee, eloquently reminds us: "Juneteenth means freedom for so many people.... [I]t’s not a Texas thing, is not a Black thing β€” it’s freedom for everybody."

Juneteenth honors a defining moment in American history, commemorating June 19, 1865, when news of freedom reached enslaved people in Galveston.

As we observe this important day, we reaffirm our commitment to expanding opportunity for future generations.

The new UT Southwestern Medical Center Psychiatric Hospital in Dallas is now open, expanding access to critical mental health care for North Texas.

Built through years of partnership among state lawmakers, local leaders, and community advocates, this state-of-the-art facility will provide 292 beds when fully operational, including 200 for adults and up to 92 for pediatric patients.

Grateful to have worked alongside my Dallas House and Senate colleagues to help make this a reality.

For four decades, Prism Health North Texas has served communities across North Texas with accessible healthcare.

Since its founding in 1986, it has grown into a Dallas-based provider offering primary care, behavioral health, pediatrics, dental, and HIV/STI services to thousands across the region.

I am grateful to join my House colleagues, Rep. Toni Rose and Rep. Venton Jones, in recognizing their 40 years of service to North Texas and honoring them with a Senate resolution.
