AI is rapidly reshaping mental health care, offering new ways to support people and improve efficiency.
But while AI tools can help with tasks like psychoeducation, journaling and admin, they cannot replace human connection, clinical judgement or real-time support in crisis. In-person contact remains essential for effective therapy, particularly for treatments such as EMDR that rely on close, human-led interaction.
