Today on this Global Running Day, we celebrate the early morning miles, the late night miles, and the miles we snuck in between meetings at work. We celebrate the speed work and the recovery runs, the runs that we didn’t want to go on and the runs where we felt like we could fly. And we celebrate all the runs yet to come.
Because we know that every time we lace up our sneakers, we start off as one person and end the run a better version of ourselves.
On this Global Running Day, we celebrate the people we get to run with and the people that make running so special: the friends that believed in us when we could barely run a mile, the ones that welcomed us at our first run club, the friends that cheered for us, that helped us through injury, that pushed us toward big goals, that helped us through hard times, and that rejoice in our achievements as if it were their own. We celebrate the running friends that became best friends. We celebrate the spectators, the volunteers, the race directors, and the strangers.
All over the world, each runner has a story and a why, and each runner makes our community better.
From everyone at Nice Jewish Runners, Happy Global Running Day.
