This champion's name is MR. BUSINESS. His job is purring, getting petted, and taking naps-- and business is booming.

At only 1.5lbs, Lou has taken the highly coveted "smallest patient" prize away from fan favorite Teddy. Lou was found as a stray with a broken femur, and needed surgery to make sure her bone could heal while allowing her to grow normally. Dr. Shuman performed the surgery and Lou is able to focus on more important things like playing and snacking. We love you so much, Lou!

This ginger king is Eugene, and Eugene had a major, major p**p problem. Cats and dogs occasionally develop an issue called megacolon, which is exactly what it sounds like: stool is not being evacuated in the normal way, and the colon expands way beyond its normal size, accumulating a truly impressive amount of poo (2nd photo). This painful condition can sometimes be treated with medication and dietary changes. But when those measures fail, we can remove the colon surgically, connecting the remaining intestine to the exit door. It's not a decision to be taken lightly, but Eugene's dad knew it was time to do what had to be done to give Eugene a chance at a more comfortable litter box experience. Here's to a lifetime of smooth moves, Eugene!

Nova had a torn ligament in her knee and a concerning lump in a very personal area. Her people were heartbroken to learn that surgery at a specialty hospital would present them significant financial challenges, and feared that they may not be able to access the care Nova needed. That's why we're here-- so families like Nova's can get great surgical care for their beloved pets at a price they can manage. We performed a TPLO and mass removal, and Nova can continue to bring her family joy and companionship while they monitor her health. Yay Nova!

Little Beaker the pomeranian fell and broke both his tiny arms. Jarad Poser took on his case and called us to help. At only 4 pounds, Beaker is a fragile little guy but his courage and charisma are larger than life! He got plates implanted in both arms (and we neutered him, too) and after a couple months of recovery time he'll be ready to run, jump and play like any other puppy. Yay Beaker! We love you! d.squad

Our friend Kirby took an unfortunate tumble, tearing his cruciate ligament and causing him a lot of discomfort. His awesome vet recommended us to his mom and we got him all fixed up! We're so grateful for the opportunity to help this guy out.

Leo is one special boy! He's a Bernedoodle, meaning his relatives are Bernese Mountain Dogs and standard poodles, which are generally relatively tall dogs. But Leo has a form of dwarfism, so his legs are short and stubby like a Corgi or a Basset Hound, while his torso and head are of average size. Unrelated, he has some of the longest eyelashes we've ever seen! He was actually here for an issue unrelated to his bones or his eyelashes, but we had to share because he's just so cool. Leo, you are perfect!
