This photo, among many others in the same album I have including legends who have gone on ahead since then, was taken exactly 16 years ago tonight at, what will be Ray Benson’s 75th and final time “at the helm” according to HAAM.

So many great memories, music and moments such as this one and meeting a lot of my personal favorites backstage that night at La Zona Rosa. Sissy was so sweet, kind and as soon as I’d mentioned that her brother Ed Spacek was currently promoting my first single to Texas Radio at the time, she immediately warmed right up to me. 16 years…that memory still holds its place in my mind, and I was only a short few moments away from meeting the now late great Robert Duvall.

Tonight may be the final curtain call for Ray’s birthday party as it is and has been since then, but the memories will live on forever.

And I’m truly grateful for each and every one of them. 🙏🏼❤️🤘🏼
