Nomadic Jack's

With summer heating up and Juneteenth around the corner, I wanted to create a burger inspired by one of my favorite chefs, Edna Lewis.

Lewis believed in cooking with the seasons and making the most of what was fresh and available around you. That philosophy has had a huge influence on how I think about food and how I approach these monthly specials.

The Jubilee Jack starts with two smashed beef patties and layers on seared country ham, aged cheddar, fried green corn, dressed butter lettuce, and a house-made plum & tart cherry preserve. Sweet, salty, savory, and unapologetically Southern.

It's my way of celebrating the flavors of early summer while paying tribute to a chef who helped preserve and share an important part of America's culinary heritage.

We are back!!

The HIGHJACK REDO is happening this Monday, May 18th after our original April 20th event got rained out.

We’ll be back at Grata’s Pizzeria on South Lamar from 5PM until sold out serving up a night of smash burgers, including the return of the HIGHJACK.

This one is happening rain or shine, so bring your appetite.
