Austin Pets Alive Canine Good Citizen Ready Program

A pilot program funded by Best Friends Animal Society. The last piece of our "no-kill" Austin is the large, rambunctious dog. Through training, diligence, and one-on-one care, dogs who would otherwise be the hardest to adopt — or even euthanized in other cities — are now becoming adoptable, highly trained pets with the Canine Good Citizen Ready Project.

We came back strong this year! Check out this crop of dogs that are learnin’ stuff. Imagine adopting a dog that already knows sit, down, stay, place, coming when called and walking on leash. Yep.
