Do you wash your clients’ wefts during move-up appointments? Because you should.

One of the biggest things that separates a quick reinstall from a quality maintenance appointment is what’s happening behind the scenes.

Extensions collect more buildup than most people realize. Styling products, scalp oils, dry shampoo, hard water minerals, sweat, dead skin… all of it lives inside those wefts over time. Reinstalling hair without properly cleansing it can affect everything from blend and longevity to how secure and balanced the install feels.

Healthy installs aren’t just about pretty before-and-afters. They’re about consistency, scalp health, and protecting the integrity of both the extension hair and the client’s natural hair over time.

For my fellow stylists: clean hair installs. Period.
The foundation feels tighter, the stitching sits cleaner, and the hair moves the way it’s supposed to. It’s one of those small details clients may never notice consciously… but they absolutely feel the difference.

I don’t work with an assistant, so I had to create a system that keeps my appointments efficient without sacrificing quality. While I’m sectioning and prepping my rows, I dry the wefts at the same time. This little workflow hack gets them fully dry in about 10 minutes and ready for reinstall without slowing down the appointment.

Comfort is in the Details!

If your row isn’t placed on a clean section that hugs the head, there’s no chance of a comfortable/beautiful grow out ♥️
