Trinity Street Players
"Trinity Street Players performs in one of my favorite theatre spaces in town, a black box on the fourth floor of First Baptist Church.... Best yet, admission is free. Kudos to Trinity Street and First Baptist for inviting us into their theatrical fold, asking for no more than our reciprocal engagement in their dramatic offering and for the courageous gift of a local premiere." “This adaptation burns with the same passion as the original, but carries it into a future that feels uncomfortably close. Nora’s rebellion challenges us to confront the past, present, and future of freedom, autonomy, and love. In a world that continues to cage women and q***r people, her exit is not just liberation; it’s a declaration. We, too, are larks, and we, too, will always break free.” Sabrina Wallace for Broadway World. Review: NORA (A DOLL'S HOUSE) at Trinity Street Players In a near-future world where freedoms are slipping away, this bold reimagining of A Doll's House redefines Nora’s iconic exit as an act of defiance. A powerful call to arms for autonomy, q***r love, and personal freedom. We, too, are larks, and we will break free.

Meet the cast of “nora”
We are thrilled to have long time Trinity St Players’ company member Robert Joseph playing Chris, the best friend.
Robert Joseph (he/him) is excited to return to the TSP stage! Though you have likely seen him around the theatre in many capacities, this is his first full-length production at TSP since
Godspell in the Old World (pre-pandemic)! He was most recently seen on stage as Gabriel in
Fences and one of The Drifters in Beautiful:The Carole King Musical at the Georgetown Palace
Theatre. Old home videos would indicate that Robert has ALWAYS been a performer, but his
love of theatre was first inspired by middle school drama teacher, Lloyd Clingman, whose
embrace of color-blind casting proved life-changing. When not performing, Robert enjoys
traveling, good food, and all things Longhorn sports! He also serves on the Theatre Advisory
Council for TSP. He thanks God, the Creator, for giving man the ability to create, and his
parents, family, and friends for their unending support. Wakanda Forever!

Meet the cast of “nora”
Up first, the one, the only Melba Martinez! ✨ Melba will be playing Ana, the nanny.
Fun fact, did you know was ’s teacher, director, mentor in 1997 when Jenny first moved to Austin! This is the first time Jenny is the director and Melba is the actor! 💖
Melba Martinez, PhD, (Ana) former Artistic Director/Chair, Associate Theatre professor, at St. Edward’s University’s Mary Moody Northen Theatre. Austin Chronicle’s Robert Faires described Melba’s body-of- work as: “all about big” - big plays, big themes, big dreams, and big risks that “changed an institution’s life and our community, largely for the better.“ Melba is forever grateful for not only the success that her students have achieved, but mostly, the people they have become.
