Data helps us better understand communities, anticipate challenges, and make smarter decisions that strengthen impact across Texas 💡📊🌟 That’s why we were proud to partner for last week's Texas Demographic Conference, where leaders from across sectors gathered to explore the demographic and socioeconomic trends shaping our state’s future.

OneStar co-led a session on the state of Texas nonprofit sector alongside United Ways of Texas exploring the size and impact of the sector and examining the economic realities facing low-income households. These insights equipped attendees with context to inform strategy, advocacy, and resource development.

For nonprofits, staying informed about emerging demographic trends is essential: it allows us to serve communities with greater precision and responsiveness while helping organizations adapt to Texas’ rapidly evolving landscape. Thank you to the Texas Demographic Center for hosting this important convening and for recognizing the critical role nonprofits play in strengthening communities across our state 💙

This Public Service Recognition Week, we honor the public servants who keep our communities strong.💪✨💙 From federal and state employees to local and tribal leaders, these individuals work every day to serve others, often behind the scenes and in challenging circumstances. Across Texas, public servants continue to show up with resilience, integrity, and a deep commitment to the common good. Their work fuels our communities, strengthens our democracy, and ensures that critical services reach those who need them most.

Public service takes many forms. Whether through a career in government, serving with AmeriCorps, or volunteering in your community, each act of service contributes to a stronger and more vibrant community.

If you feel called to make a difference, volunteering is a powerful place to start, helping to build skills, foster connections, and open pathways to a lifetime of service. Visit onestarfoundation.org/volunteertx to seek out opportunities to serve in your community!
