Terry Klein

Some nice words from the good folks at Cactus Cottage.
Think back to the opening credits of the classic film Office Space. Peter is furious with traffic at a standstill. An elderly gentleman with an assistive device is walking faster on the sidewalk. Michael Bolton is blasting gangster rap but he can only be authentic in his protective bubble.
Now instead, imagine that all three of these men are listening to Terry Klein 's new surprise single, “I Used to Be Cool.” It’s a warm and sunny day in Austin and Mopac stretches for miles of green hills and trees without billboards, big box stores, or high rise condos.
Peter is reminiscent and comfortable with himself like he’s already been hypnotized to not care about anything. The elderly man has a Discman and an old-soft-shoe-shuffle in his step. Michael Bolton lets his guard down with others around him, but he’s still wearing the short-sleeve button-up shirt.
“I Used to be Cool” is a song for the collective unconscious mind, a song that moseys against time instead of racing, a song for the sharp twang and slow drawl, a song with peanut shells on its dance floor. It’s a song for everyone, and Terry Klein is beyond cool.
