Happy Pride Month! 🌈
We are happy to celebrate the incredible diversity of our community this month and every month! To all LGBTQIA+ community members around the globe, we support you and stand with you.
We would like to take some time this month to acknowledge and address the barriers that many members of the LGBTQIA+ community may encounter while seeking Parkinson’s health care and support. Stigma and discrimination against people in the LGBTQIA+ community is an ongoing issue and commonly hinders people in the community from seeking care for health issues, including Parkinson’s. This can delay Parkinson’s diagnosis and treatment and has contributed to the under-representation of LGBTQIA+ individuals in Parkinson’s research.
Throughout the month we will be highlighting helpful resources that empower people with PD in the LGBTQIA+ community, so stay tuned!

This is a great opportunity for our friends in Georgetown!
The GAPS Care Partner Support Group provides a safe, compassionate space for those caring for loved ones with Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. It offers emotional support, practical advice, and a community of peers who understand the challenges of caregiving. Through shared experiences, caregivers can find comfort, reduce stress, and learn strategies to better care for both their loved ones and themselves.

We are deeply grateful to have been featured in this article by the Parkinson's Foundation about community leaders connecting with Hispanic and Latin community members living with Parkinson's.
Thanks to a Community Grant from the Parkinson's Foundation, we have been able to continue expanding our free exercise programs in Spanish, creating spaces for movement and connection for people with Parkinson’s and their caregivers.
Thank you to everyone who is part of this journey and helps us continue bringing movement and wellness to our community.
